So for everyone that has a Sony Ericsson mobile phone (like the ubiquitous T610) I stumbled across a cool program that allows you to remote control your P.C. via the phone, so long as you have some sort of Bluetooth adaptor on the P.C. The software is Jeyo Remote. So far I've only tested it with PowerPoint but it seems to do the job extremely well and the full version is only $15.

You'd think with how hot it is they'd know better than to light fires.

I figure it's about time I introduced the world, or at least the very small percentage of it that will ever read this, to the B*****d Operator from H*ll, (or BOFH for short). This long running series of short written sketches give some very funny examples of what life could be like in the I.T. department, if only.

Well I have heard it said that size doesn't matter, but that's obviously not the case as far as the folks a LaCie are concerned when they are talking about their disk drives. Their latest move into the bigger is better department is an external drive, with 1.6Tb (yes 1.6 terabytes) of storage. Now all I have to do is figure out what I could store that would come anywhere near filling this monster. Cause as it is RAID 0 (stripped) you'd probably want two so that you could keep a backup.

Okay so we all know of someone who'd just love a segway (don't we Trey?) but have you ever given any thought to what happens when it rains, a not too uncommon occurrence in Houston this year. Well it just so happens I might have the answer.

Freudian spell checker error segway = sewage?

Hey Folks,...
Sorry if some of you were trying to get to the blog and could not get through (also sorry for the annoying popups).
They were both caused by the little posting scripts we had on the lower right of the blog allowing people to leave there comments... Apparently those dirty *&%$#%%* hijacked the blog and we sending popups like some overactive teen porn site.

So, in the time being, please post you comments on the comments sections and I will look for another 'comments' device..

HAPPY BLOG READING!

Okay, so I was wondering the other day how I ever got by without my USB key drive. Well this lead me to thinking that the only issue I have with it is that sometimes I run out of space, so may be it's time to upgrade to one with more capacity. So off to google I go to search for what's available and as usual I managed to get side tracked.

I did find what I was looking for, digi4me do a 512MB PQI intelligent stick which I think I'm going to order, though I am a bit worried about losing it, as it's so small.

So I mentioned getting side tracked, well did you know you can get a USB Swiss Army knife

or even an aquarium

but I think the one that really blew my mind was the USB noodle strainer

So I mentioned this at work and was met with somewhat disbelieve, see what do you think about titanium breast implants, well doesn't that just take the silicone?

Along similar if somewhat less intrusive lines it appears that it's now possible to have your finger nails decorated by printer.

and it's not just plain Jane stuff either, you can get some really nifty designs:

Anyway continuing with yesterdays iPod theme, how'd you like an iPod wedding cake.

Mind you, it is an iPod mini, so you'd better not have many guests.

A truley sad announcement. One of my favorite actors, and most fond impressions, Marlon Brando died 6:20 Wednesday night at an Los Angeles area hospital. Just two months after his 80'th birthday. He was a very private man, but will always be The Godfather to me.

JohnB here, with my first post, and would you believe it I have my first problem. It appears that blogger doesn't like Mozilla, so I'm going to have to revert to Internet Explorer, boo hiss.

For those strange people who like looking at pictures I have a couple of albums online at yahoo. I'm the big guy with the (now graying)beard.

Thought for today if you'd spent a rather large sum of money on a nice new shiny IPod why would you want to hide it?

Mind you being as I used to have one of the yellow walkmen (walkman's?) I guess I shouldn't complain as it appears it's coming back into style :-)

So what else caught my eye today, hmmm I guess the home made flame thrower would be one thing, it does seem to work quite well.

Must remember to check I have fire insurance.

While we're taking about things of an offensive nature how would you like this pepper spray gun with a difference. What's the difference you ask, well if your attacker is pretty indifferent to pepper (think the bad guy in Under Siege 2: Dark Territory) then you can zap them with 200,000 volts.

On the techy front I've been playing with a neat program today called x1. Once installed on your P.C. it indexes all your mail, any attachments they have, your contacts and every file on all your disks. You can then search for that elusive file or message by name or content "as quick as you can type" or so they say, and I have to admit they're pretty much correct. Once you've found the file the system contains it's own internal viewer that displays over 250 different file formats so you can get a quick look before deciding if this is the file you want. So what's the down side, the nearly $100 price tag, though you do get 2 licenses for that. If nothing else it may be indicative of what is to come in Windows if Microsoft ever manage to get Longhorn out of the door.

A heck of a sight! An Alligator with a deer in its mouth at Cross Lake... If only we could train them to be like Labs.... There you go boy... Fetch!
